On April 27, Allison Gaul (www.mwzb.com/personnel/allison-gaul) and William Nixon (www.mwzb.com/personnel/william-nixon ) of the Electrical, Computer, and Software Group lead Japanese patent professionals in a discussion about emerging trends in ledger technologies, as part of recurring virtual meetings to promote the understanding of technical matters in both countries. Members presented on topics such as cryptocurrency, blockchain, cryptocurrency infrastructure, and non-fungible tokens. Ms. Gaul discussed different intellectual property strategies for each topic as well as addressed some popular misconceptions about blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
