Ryan Pool is an associate who practices in a diverse set of technologies, including the biochemical, mechanical, and software
arts. He specializes in patent drafting and patent prosecution. Mr. Pool joined the firm in 2009.
Mr. Pool is working closely with partner Bill Nixon in developing the firm’s growing practice of patent work in the field of
business methods and computer software. He also heads the firm's design patent practice and has developed considerable
experience and expertise in drafting, prosecuting, and counseling clients with regard to these applications.
Mr. Pool a registered patent attorney at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is also admitted to practice before the
U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and in the courts of Florida.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Pool worked as a state’s attorney, where he gained considerable trial experience prosecuting
misdemeanor and felony cases. He also worked for a private civil litigation law firm before joining MWZB.
Mr. Pool was born and raised in South Carolina.
